I did a very silly thing on Saturday. Having hit the supermarket after Bella's ballet class I decided to make some soup. I though when it was made is should pop it in the fridge as we were off to see Alice in Wonderland. Now i seem to have suffered from dropsy this last week (i put it down to the fact that i'm not used to working nearly full time and it's tiring!!), i've managed to spill coffee, coke and all manner of other things all over the place. The worst was the soup.
Silly me managed to spill boiling soup all over my hand. To be quite frank i might have well have just put my hand in the saucepan. To make it worse i did this half an hour before we were due to pick mum up for the cinema. I couldn't let mum or the kids down so i popped my hand in freezing water for as long as i could then went off to the cinema hoping it wouldn't be too bad. My hand was blistering by the time we came out of the cinema. Film was fab by the way, we all loved it!
So this morning, with my poorly sore hand i was treated to breakfast in bed, lovely roses and a big box of chocs (which Bedster told me i could save till i'd finished my diet!). Then Bella and i went and collected my mum to take her back to the cinema so they could see St Trinians 2. And i got to spend two hours wandering around the shops on my own. BLISS.
Had such fun, spent lots in Laura Ashley and went to Starbucks for a frappacino and cinnamon bun, treated myself to a new bracelet (ok second one of the weekend but they were both cute), a new book, Scrapbook Trends magazine! It was sheer bliss and i loved it.
I also loved Bella and Mum's faces when they came out of the film, they had loved it. Bella then conned us into going to Next (her fav. shop!) to buy a new cardi and some super cute pink shoes. Then Primark for trousers and tops for her school holiday.
Hand hurts now, so i'm taking my book and magazine up to bed.

I've been quiet but busy!
As the title says, quiet on the blogging front but very busy!
I started a new job after a long wait for my police checks to come through, but as anybody who knows me will agree working in the school kitchen washing up probably wasn't the best job for me! So after five weeks i gave my notice, had a week of with the kids at half term and then started a lovely new job after half term. I love my new job, i get to work from home most days and it's doing what i know, admin stuff. I am a happy bunny!
I have also lost 17lb. I do believe that the snow helped a lot. Some days we couldn't get either of the cars off the driveway so we walked everywhere. The washing machine in the garage froze so we couldn't do any washing - i don't think there was a funnier sight than me strapping my washing basket to the kids sledge and dragging it up the hill to my parents to use their machine!
We spent our snow days mainly with our friends sledging or having hot chocolate! We are blessed to live opposite the park which is great for sleding and snow ball fights and saw lots of friends from school. And when it got way too cold outside we played on the Wii. Great fun.
We were disappointed that the Make it show at Farnborough was cancelled due to the weather on the day we were due to go. We went to Hobbycraft instead but it wasn't the same! So last weekend we went to The Glitter Pot, a long drive for Bella and Bedster but we had such a great time. Bella had her own basket and for a change wasn't followed round the shop by suspicious shop assistants. She paid for all her stamps and stickers herself (and Nanny, Grandad and I got her some extras) and was so pleased. Bedster has become obsessed with Monkey stamps and got two and can't wait for our next trip to the shop.
So that is the last couple of months, busy but we are happy!!!!
Now I must go ink up my new Magnolia stamps!

And that's Christmas gone!
Hope everyone had fab Christmas'. We did, go the kids a lovely Wii and have spent today with my parents and my mum challenging everyone to bowling matches. Eleanor won most of the time and it has to be said she doesn't win gracefully! Highly amusing.
I've cooked so much food this past few days that we'll be living on the leftovers for a few more days! But my caramel profiteroles went down a treat - YUM.
I've been spoilt with lots of new cds and dvds and can't wait for a couple of hours on my own to indulge in confessions of a shoppaholic, new in town and marley and me, and the cds - andrea bocelli, jamie cullam and michael buble. Still John is on hols for a week so maybe i'll get some alone time!
Above is one of my fav photo's of Belle and Bedster from this year taken on a day out with friends at Wisley Gardens.
Happy new year.

October Already!
Have had a fab few months, stressful with the loss of my jobs but to be honest worse things could happen!
We had a fab holiday at the MIL's on Hayling Island. The kids loved their day at Portsmouth Historic Docks. We were lucky enough to see the Mary Rose before she was closed until 2012. We were so pleased that the kids took so much pleasure from the Docks. We had a boat ride, hauled ourselves up and down the Victory (which Bedster didn't appreciate i think he felt closed in!).
The Sea Life centre was fun too and when we had gone around it twice we went for a walk alongthe sea front to look at the war memorial. On the way back Bedster tried to get soaked from the waves coming over the sea wall. Very amusing to watch.

Bedster had a haircut!
Well i've been neglectful haven't I! Still I'm here now. So much has happened really, been made redundant from both my jobs (within a week of each other), so new adventures to follow.
Anyway, after having a fab day with the kids and my parents in Poole and at Kingston Lacey last friday the whole family went down to Uncle Eddie and Aunt Jackies in Ferring on Sunday. The weather was fab, the kids all went swimming in the sea. Just blissfull really.
Bedsters hair had gotten quite long - it's ever so thick and really needed a cut, so my brother got Uncle Eddie's clippers and went for it in the garden. So funny, Bedster looks like a little thugabug now, so cute.
The kids and hubbie went blackberrying this afternoon while i was at work, so i'm making jam tomorrow. That should be interesting!

Memories of Jo
Today was a sad day. We said goodbye to our dear friend Jo this afternoon.
I'd like to share my thoughts on this wonderful and funny lady.
Words can't explain how much I will miss this special lady. She changed my life so much, she gave me a whole new set of wonderful, supportive friends. I can quite honestly say that when i plucked up the courage to ask Jo and Jane for a job life was never going to be the same again. Jo persuaded me to take classes and demonstrate for The Craft Co, i never would have thought of doing anything like this and i loved it.
Her funeral was so beautiful, the words spoken by her husband and her father were so moving.
I feel blessed that she was in my life, even though it was a relatively short time.
One of my favourite memories will be one of the last times we went out. We'd gone to Bracknell to collect the wadding for our quilts and we sat in the market with a big mug of tea and a bacon butty and discussed loads, from our shared love of Martha Stewart, how fab Country Living magazine was and her plans for the future.
So dear Jo, I may shed tears and miss you, but mostly i will think of you and smile, for you gave me so much and i'm a much better person for having you as a friend.

Spending Money!
Had a lovely morning, I went to the Make It show at Farnborough with my Mum and my friend Sue. They let us in at 9.30 and we had great fun. I'm sure there are less exhibitors than last year but we still managed to spend a little bit of money!
We went to Little Claire's stall and got some lovely stamps and tag concertina cards, Lilli of the Valley for some cute fairy's and my favourite Craftwork Cards for some gorgeous stamps (which Belle wanted) and lots of lovely bits.
We were very restrained but had a great time.
Belle went to see Fame this afternoon in Woking, she loved it had a great time and can't wait for her ballet classes to start again next week.
I'm off with Mum, Dad and the children to Wisley to see the butterflies in the morning, am looking forward to it and i will take loads of photo's! I'm trying to be a better blogger, i've just not felt that creative lately!
I have been researching our family tree this last week - I have gone back quite far with my Great Grandfather's Mothers family - 1841. It's fascinating. More on that later!
A dear friend is very ill at the moment and our family is praying for her and her family.
TTFN and thank you for reading my wafflings!
